On WEDDING!

WEDDING! It happened! Woo. xD

Busy day for everyone, understandably. After a morning of very frantic packing, stuffing, eating, packing, organizing, packing, cramming into cars, picking up peeps, and packing, we arrived at the wedding location and started our work.

The ceremony itself went well, with very few (well hidden, I hope) snags. I just might have brought my grandmother in from the wrong part of the placeamajiggit...
Honestly, I'm too tired now to say much about what happened, but at least I can say that it went well, and Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Seay are now very happily wed. :-)

On Weddings...

SO! Its the wedding day...and I still don't have any pictures. I suppose I can take a couple today and maybe post some of the real photographer's pics. Looks like today is gonna be great! The weather is supposed to be 70ish, cloudy, and slightly humid. We are rather pleased, to say the least. Most of the kinks have been worked out so far, and we're now just slowly getting ourselves prepped for the wedding.

The bridesmaids are meeting us at the wedding, as are the groomsmen, and we'll have two hours to pretty much have everything done. I thought we were nearly done, but there are actually quite a few details to be worked out...a lot of shuttling of equipment, setting up the reception, the music... (I'm not sure how that's gonna work out...)

I suppose I shall talk to you later today, when my sister is no longer my sister!

On Golf...

Another day of moving to the apartment, but I have very little to say.

I was playing golf.

Furniture was moved today! Apparently Sis wasn't able to get anything done beforehand because she didn't have any dressers or shelves to put the previous loads into, and today A brought a load of stuff like that.

On Apartments...

Gee, I figured I'd have more to talk about.

Well! Today, we started moving stuff into Steron's apartment. I'd originally thought we were going to spend the entire day shuttling stuff back and forth, but apparently they decided to take one load of stuff up. One load...

I guess I can't rightly say "apartment" because they're renting a townhouse. It seems the difference is that townhouses are built on two floors, whereas apartments are only one. This eliminates upstairs neighbors, which is something I was rooting for. You can ignore neighbors to the side pretty well, but when you have people above you (or you are the people above), you suddenly start paying more attention to how loudly you walk.

I've also been trying to get permission from Steron to use their house as a DIY canvas...you know, coat an end table in pennies and then encase it in clear epoxy/clearcoat.

Back to the apartment. It was originally built to house troops coming home from WWII, so it actually has the same basic setup as a barracks. (Of that time, at least.) This means small kitchen. Like, really small kitchen. All cooking, baking, and washing can be done without moving the feet one step. The agency has just replaced all the flooring and major appliances, and they painted the entire house. I'm pretty sure they just had someone stand in the rooms when the carpet was gone and just spray paint at the walls...with a hose. But hey, it looks nice and is all very fresh and clean. It smells nice, something that was a requirement for S.

Perhaps I'll get pictures at some point.

On Beginnings...

Yo.

I'm not a detail person, so I'm going to give you a nice simple background.

A buncha years ago (like two, three, maybe four?) My sister met this guy while working at a summer bible camp. Now they're getting married!

Ok, maybe that wasn't long enough. Over the next year or so, we started seeing more and more of Aaron. We met his family once or twice, went out to eat a couple times, and eventually he asked mom and dad if he could court mah sis. He's a rather respectable gent, and they said yes, so we started seeing even
more of Aaron. Next thing you know, he buys her an engagement ring, proposes, and she says yes. Theeen they both went back to school and this and that, and such and such happened, and now the wedding is a week away! Yeah, time moves quickly. We're in a hustle of apartmenting, preparing, planning....all that good stuff.

Now that you're all caught up, I can tell you about what I'm doin' here. People don't scrapbook nearly as much anymore, so memories are lost. The way I see it, if I'm able to preserve just a couple of the hectic moments they share in the first few years of their marriage, then I'll have made it worth my time.

chill,
